Biography

Bandan Ajay Vishwakarma is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Pediatrics at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences , Her work involves in understanding the self-renewal mechanism in leukemia stem cells. She elucidated the role of Setbp1 in myeloid leukemia development in mice and found that SETBP1 represses Runx1, the critical regulator of hematopoiesis by recruiting NuRD complex. Her work further demonstrated that HDAC inhibitors could be potential molecule for treating myeloid malignancies with Setbp1 activation.

Research Interests

Molecular biology genetics biotechnology molecular evolution.
